The Adept Gaming Chair – a true symbiosis of state-of-the-art production methods, intelligent, environmentally friendly materials and, of course, radical design.
Three main principles shaped our design and development process for Tonic United’s new gaming chair:
Superior Technology.
This statement is embedded in the smallest fibre of this model and was a fundamental principle above every decision made in the design process of a novel gaming chair.
The undisputed ergonomic sitting comfort – a direct result of the use of a state-of-the-art synchro-mechanism, otherwise only found in highest-class office chairs, and a fully adjustable lumbar support hidden in the lower backrest – have been developed to achieve ideal support for the person sitting.
Using the latest production technologies and materials to create an environmentally friendly, locally manufactured gaming chair that is nevertheless able to mass produce extremely high volumes to meet demand within a few days from production to delivery.
Finding innovative ways to upholster, assemble and ship the chair – to deliver a world-class product directly to customers at a reasonable price.
All of this is based on superior technology – from the very first sketch. For this reason, we use the market-leading design and CAD software Solidworks as the basic tool for all our designs. This enables direct data transfer to and from manufacturing companies – creating a common data language that allows us to incorporate design themes directly into engineering components or production requirements, as well as existing mechanical systems.
Unique design.
Adept creates a whole new contour in the world of gaming chairs, while maintaining and even promoting the heritage and look of a compelling gamer chair. And it doesn’t stop at the overview: Every detail is designed to reflect the momentum of the chair as a whole – whether it’s the armrests that maintain the chair’s dynamism in both the active and reclined positions, or the two-tone aluminium base that repeats the shapes and proportions of the backrest cushions. Everything that contributes to the chair’s appearance is made specifically for this model – resulting in a flawless design language for the entire product.
Endless possibilities.
The basic structure of Adept itself is meant to be a blank canvas. The components are meant to represent a strong tie to gaming and modern seating, but otherwise only serve as a skeleton for a much larger and as yet completely unknown field of design and creation for seating products that connects the physical chair with its digital origin and subject: graphic design.
Adept provides the basis for an incredible wealth of design possibilities and different interpretations down to the last detail. With the versatile upholstery system and custom-made back plates, shoulder flaps and centre covers, the chair can take on any conceivable look and mood through bespoke graphic design applications that allow the chair to change its overall look and feel to exactly match the client’s attitude.
We are proud we had been able to support and accompany Tonic United over the whole process from inspiring the first ideas and sketches to a cutting-edge product in serial production in less than 15 months.
